Chicago is filled with many historical and architecturally captivating venues perfect for a winter wedding. The University Club is one of these places, a Chicago historical landmark- and centered in the heart of the city. This winter, our team had the pleasure to create beautifully romantic floral décor amongst the tall breathtaking stained glass windows and the dark architectural details.
The cocktail hour took place in The University Club’s library, a fun and unique setting for guests to gather before the reception. The place card table was decorated with a tall glass vase filled with blush dendrobium orchids. Hightop tables were arranged throughout the library with simple silver cylinders displaying white hydrangea’s.
The reception décor was balanced by two enchanting floral displays. Tall vintage silver stands were crowned with white hydrangeas, blush peonies and dozens of Anna roses. The second display featured silver pedestal bowls filled with overflowing complimenting bloom. To add to the ambiance of the room, all dinner tables were finished with silver mercury votives and silver candlesticks. As the chills of winter blew outside, only warmth, happiness and love filled the Cathedral ballroom in this Chicago historical landmark.
